Commonwealth Local Government Forum: CLGF

Since  it was established in 1995, CLGF has been active in Southern Africa,  working with the ministries responsible for local government, national  local government associations and local governments in member countries  to implement decentralization, improve inter-governmental relationships, build the capacity of local governments to improve governance and  service delivery.

United Cities and Local Governments: UCLG

The UCLG AFRICA is the umbrella organization and the united voice and representative of local government in Africa.

International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives: ICLEI

ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability, founded in 1990 as the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives, is an international organization of local governments and national and regional local government organizations that have made a commitment to sustainable development.

National Gender Commision

The newly established National Gender Commission has been hailed as a  step in the right direction as far as bridging gender inequality in  Botswana is concerned. The commission which was launched in Gaborone on Thursday 8 September 2016.a
